About Me
Welcome. I am Kelly, and I am a licensed clinical social worker practicing in California. I work with adult clients in person in the Cow Hollow neighborhood of San Francisco and virtually throughout the state of California. I am here to provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for you.
Whatever brings you to therapy, I believe that sorting out your thoughts and feelings together can yield a more fulfilling and authentic life. My style is genuine, interactive, and compassionate. Your experiences, culture, and identity inform who you are and will be valued in our work together.
Everyone is unique, so your therapy will be tailored to you. I use a combination of relational, psychodynamic, and mindfulness techniques, and I am a trauma informed clinician, with particular attention to the mind-body connection. In our sessions, we may examine that which brings you meaning and fulfillment, the barriers between you and your goals, and how your earlier experiences are impacting you today. I offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) treatment.
I received an MSW from UCLA in 2006 and have completed additional coursework through the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis and the California Institute of Integral Studies. I look forward to hearing from you and to starting our work together.
Services
Individual Therapy
I work with adults seeking more genuine and complete lives. Maybe you feel overwhelmed, disconnected or lonely, or want to change patterns that are no longer working for you. Together, we will look at how your past has shaped your present by focusing on what is or is not working in relationships, at work, and within yourself.
Therapy is a time for you to focus on what you want and need. We will identify and work toward your goals, whether you want to improve your relationships, navigate a life transition, work through trauma, or something else. I am here to support you in working toward the life you want.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an evidence based practice used to support recovery from trauma and other mental health challenges. EMDR therapy is based on the idea that, when events have been experienced as traumatic, the memory of those events can be maladaptively stored by the brain and can continue to impact the individual’s functioning. The EMDR clinician uses a protocol of guided bilateral stimulation to help the brain safely reprocess the traumatic memories.
I offer EMDR as a part of regular ongoing therapy, as well as longer block intensive sessions.
Couples Therapy
No matter how loving a relationship is, there are times when things do not seem to be working like they once did. Some relationships can start to feel more like project management than intimacy. In others, the partners cannot move forward after a breach of trust. In others still, the partners feel misunderstood and unappreciated. We will work on communication, identifying your needs and wants, and figuring out how to get there.
Couples, throuples, polycules; monogamous or not; queer, straight, fluid: I see you and I am here to help you meet your relationship goals.
Sex & Intimacy Therapy
I offer individual and couples therapy for sex or intimacy related reasons. This includes past trauma or abuse, feelings of dissatisfaction, anxiety around intimacy, as well as other presenting concerns.
Coaching
Coaching can be helpful for addressing non-clinical goals and barriers, both personal and professional. This might look like developing an action plan, having an accountability partner, or support with habit building.
